My First Blog!

It's my first blog so I don't really know what to write so here goes...

Hey everyone,
I am in college and cooking is a huge interest of mine, nothing will be perfect but will always accept and suggestions on how I improve.

I decided to start a blog as I came across many baking and cooking blogs and were amazed with what people can create and how imaginative they were so thought I would give it a go!

I will be cooking and trying out different recipes and blogging about them. Talking about how I found them and seeking any advice that can help me improve.

I keep having trouble with my buttercream I can never find The right consistency!

Does anyone have any advice on how to get the best smooth and fluffy buttercream ??

  1. For buttercream you always do double amount of icing sugar to butter. For a nice consistency i usually whip up the butter for a couple of minutes until its pale in colour and then add the icing sugar. I usually sift the icing sugar too to get rid of any lumps. If the buttercream is too stiff, which i find more often than none it is, i add about 2 tablespoons of milk just to give it a nicer, smoother finish when you pipe it out.
    Hope this helps
